This policy explains how the SOAK EU Store collects and uses your personal data. The store is run by Inis Records Limited, which is the data controller for your information.

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number, and what you bought.
  • Payment details: these are processed by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, for example about a return.
  • Device and browsing data: IP address, browser type, and how you use the site, collected through cookies (see below).
  • Mailing list: your email address, if you sign up.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

  • To process and deliver your order and handle returns. This is necessary to fulfil our contract with you.
  • To keep records for tax and accounting. This is a legal obligation under Irish law.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the store secure. This is in our legitimate interests. Our store platform may use automated checks to flag possibly fraudulent orders, and any flagged order is reviewed by a person.
  • To send you news and offers. We only do this with your consent. If you've bought from us before, we may email you about similar products, and you can opt out at any time. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To answer your questions. This is in our legitimate interests in running the store.

Who we share it with
We only share what's needed to run the store, with:

  • Shopify, which hosts the store
  • Payment providers such as Shopify Payments and PayPal
  • Shanahan Direct, who pack and ship orders for us
  • Delivery companies such as An Post and DPD
  • Our email marketing provider, if you've signed up
  • Our accountants and professional advisers, where needed
  • Revenue or other authorities, where the law requires it

We don't sell your data.

International transfers
Some of these providers, including Shopify, may process data outside the EEA, for example in Canada or the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by an EU adequacy decision or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Order and transaction records: 6 years, as required for Irish tax purposes.
  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
  • Emails and other enquiries: up to 2 years, unless linked to an order.

Cookies
The store uses cookies that are needed to make it work, like keeping items in your basket. We only use analytics or marketing cookies if you agree to them through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • get a copy of the data we hold about you
  • have it corrected if it's wrong
  • have it deleted, where we don't need to keep it by law
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • receive it in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please get in touch with us first. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, or at www.dataprotection.ie.

Children
The store isn't aimed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
